Alex Rascovar, LCSW

“Therapy is a relationship between two people to focus on the troubles of the one person looking for help.  It’s amazing to see what can happen when someone looks at themselves in the context of a supportive and caring relationship.”

I’ve seen many different obstacles during my work. I specialize in helping people with a pervasive sense of worry or fear. There could be many different reasons for these feelings, but together I believe that we can find the answer.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. The following are a few of my specialties (this list is not all-inclusive):

  • Life Transitions

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma

  • Creative Endeavors

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

Therapy is a gift. It changes the trajectory of our lives in a profound way.  It can help to break patterns that have plagued not only us, but our families as well.  Something probably brought you to this website at this time in your life.  I would say that you should try it despite any reservations.  You might be pleasantly surprised by what you find, and with a little luck, you can get closer to being the person that you wish to be.  It can be hard sometimes and emotionally challenging, but in these challenges we can find experiences that change us to our core and make us better for it.
