Andrew Tepper, LCSW

“Therapy can be many different things, depending on the individual needs of the client. Sometimes therapy is all about understanding what’s in your head, other times it is about changing a pattern, thought, or feeling that’s in your head. Sometimes therapy can be about resolving something that was unresolved from the past, other times it can be learning and strengthening skills to tolerate distress, regulate emotions, or just to be more effective in your life.”

I’ve had a lot of experience working with clients approaching crisis, feeling overwhelmed, and experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and unresolved conflict.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. The following are a few of my specialties (this list is not all-inclusive):

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Stress

  • DBT

  • Negative Thought Patterns

  • Inattention

  • Conflict

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

I’m honored to work with my clients as I feel like they are letting me into a private side of their lives where some people feel vulnerable. I feel like people hand me their diaries and say ‘I trust you. Read this. Help me.’ I am humbled by that and try my best to make my clients feel comfortable, that they can trust me, and that I will always work with them in a collaborative effort to help them (as opposed to dictate to them what they ‘should’ do or what the work ‘should’ look like).
