I have over 10 years of experience working with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings. In private practice, I often work with those dealing with significant life transitions, depression and/or anxiety, and interpersonal conflict in intimate and social relationships. Prior to this, I spent 7 years working with those in mental health crisis with major mental health diagnoses including psychotic and mood disorders. This included treating the traumas that were often a part of these experiences - sexual and physical abuse, neglect, drug use, leaving your country of origin and more.

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?
I consider therapy the “safe experiment” where you can play with the breadth of human experience and emotions in the room with me to learn about how you might want to shift into more satisfaction in your life. Therefore, you will experience moments of happiness, discomfort, anger, contentment, anxiety, etc. My suggestion is to try 5 sessions to see how you feel engaging in this form of therapy.
