Flora Margolis, LCSW

“Therapy is a non-judgmental space for us to work together. We will start to bring awareness to negative thinking patterns and to understand the connection between these thoughts, your emotions, and behavior. It is a place to learn new coping strategies and techniques for managing stress, anxiety, or depression. My goal is to get you back to feeling like yourself again.”

My private practice work has always focused on working with pregnant and new moms struggling with anxiety and depression. I have also worked with dads struggling in similar ways with the transition to parenthood.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. The following are a few of my specialties (this list is not all-inclusive):

  • Pregnancy Depression/Anxiety

  • Postpartum Depression/Anxiety

  • Trying to Conceive

  • Transition to Parenthood

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

The first session is an hour consultation. I will be asking a lot of questions to get a sense of what I think will be most helpful. I will need some background information but mostly hearing about what is happening now that is bringing you to therapy. We will come up with a plan together around how to move forward in the treatment.

You can always come for a first session consultation and then decide if it feels right for you or if you want to take time to think about it.
