Along with more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist I worked with diverse populations, diagnoses, and ages. Thus I worked with families who were going through obstacles associated with their condition as immigrants. Working with immigrants from different parts of the world made me have a deeper understanding of what immigration might mean to different people and the process of loss, adjustment and acculturation that happens.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. The following are a few of my specialties (this list is not all-inclusive):

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • PTSD

  • Immigration Issues/Adjustment

  • OCD

  • LGBTQ Issues

  • Psychosomatic Symptoms

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

If you have never been in therapy before, I can briefly tell you that you will find a safe place where you can freely talk and share your feelings and thoughts.

Psychotherapy is offered in different formats and it can be effective for all age groups.

There are many reasons to start therapy; there are many challenging situations that may lead you to ask for therapy. Everyone may find therapy to be beneficial for their own life. If you have difficulty making a decision in life or have to cope with life changes, you may find that a therapeutic space will provide you with the tools to move on. There are several manifestations of suffering that may be addressed through therapy; for instance, anxiety, depression, feelings of guilt or emptiness, as well as tormenting thoughts, somatic symptoms, difficulty sleeping and eating. You may also consider starting therapy if you suffer due to conflicts in relationships and problems to work or study. Events of life, such as losses, illnesses, and traumatic events may be worked through in therapy.
