If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?
You can expect the first session to be a time to answer questions about your history in a structured manner. You can also expect to begin to form a relationship with me, and one in which I do check in to see how the process feels for you. My guess is, if you’ve been thinking about therapy for awhile, then it’s time to give it a try. I think starting can feel daunting, but if you find someone who feels like a good fit, then you should definitely be open-minded to the process.
