Sarah Varela, LMSW

“Therapy is meant to be a safe space for an individual or family to identify challenges and learn the skills to overcome those challenges. Therapy is a place where individuals come to learn and gain tools for living happier and healthier lives.”

I have experience working with young adults facing life transitions and anxiety.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. The following are a few of my specialties (this list is not all-inclusive):

  • Anxiety

  • Life transitions

  • Self-Esteem

  • Relationships

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

If you are hesitant about trying, I would encourage you to explore this hesitation.  I would ask you to consider what you are seeking treatment for.

I also encourage a one time trial for clients who are hesitant and explain that we can see if it is a good therapeutic match for them. If it is not, I recommend someone who can better help them.
