Susan Gill, PhD, LCSW-R

Doing therapy with Susan has already changed my life very positively, in many ways, and I look forward to doing more therapy…Because she understands so well what’s going on with me, when I express my thoughts and feelings to her, Susan always responds in a way that helps me understand myself better. By helping me achieve greater self-understanding, Susan helps me break with my self-destructive patterns of thought and behavior.” —Client testimonial

I have worked in the field for 20+ years and have seen people from many backgrounds and with a great variety of problems. I enjoy working with young people with issues related to professional developments and relationships. With a PhD in art history, I have a special interest in working with artists, writers, entrepreneurs and other creative individuals. Of course, work outside of the arts also requires creative thinking.

My specializations are in working with difficulties in relationships, self-esteem and anxiety. I work a great deal with people in transition in their lives and have worked with trauma of all kinds.

I work with people on a wide range of issues. The following are a few of my specialties (this list is not all-inclusive):

  • Anxiety

  • Relationship Concerns

  • Issues related to Intimacy

  • Self-Esteem Issues

  • Grief and Loss

  • Creative Blocks

  • Life Transitions

  • Trauma/Sexual Abuse

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

All of us experience times when we feel stuck, unhappy, confused or disillusioned with our lives. If you want to make changes that will help you feel more at peace in your life, therapy can help you make those changes.

My goal is to create an atmosphere in which you will feel listened to, acknowledged, and understood, so that you will have the knowledge and confidence to move forward positively in your life.
