Message from Thomas

I view therapy as a collaborative experience aimed at helping patients become the best version of themselves. I love working with patients who are motivated to make change and excited to learn more about who they are and how they navigate the world. I have a plethora of experience working with individuals and couples who have mood disorders, anxiety related disorders, complex physical and sexual abuse traumas, and those who have difficulty adjusting to life changes. Whether you're returning or going for the first time, therapy can be scary. I pride myself on creating a warm, accepting, and empathetic environment that aids patients in opening up and exploring themselves. I am direct with patients and encourage them to face things that make them uncomfortable so they're able to grow.

Get to Know Thomas

What are your policies and practices around insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, however I will happily submit your insurance claims for you at the end of each month.

Do you assign homework, activities, or readings for me to do between sessions? Why or why not?

We will work collaboratively to come up with things you can work on between sessions that are aimed at helping you to see big improvements quickly! Therapy is only 45 minutes to an hour per week- that means there are 167 other hours in the week where you can also be moving towards your goals. Therapy does not have to take over your life, but generally individuals who continue to work on themselves between sessions see the fastest results.

Is there ever a time when you would encourage me to leave or graduate? Or how do I know when it's time to end or move on, or time to stay and explore more?

I view therapy as a very collaborative experience and together we will set goals. Sometimes people's goals change, new ones are added, or other patterns emerge that are more pressing. Some clients have concrete goals while others want to explore. My personal goal is to help my clients gain the understanding of themselves and tools necessary to lead fulfilling and happy lives. Therapy can be for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

What is unique about the work you do, or how have you found your work to be different than your colleagues'?

I am a very honest and direct therapist, which I believe helps my clients to be more honest and direct with themselves and allows for quicker change.

What is the best part of the work for you?

I genuinely love being a therapist and feel an energy boost after each of my sessions. It's an honor to be allowed into people's lives and help them overcome their obstacles. As a therapist I'm still very much myself in the room and aim to make real connections with my clients.
