How participatory are you during sessions?

As each individual client is different, my participation depends on the clients’ needs and preferences. My participation is also flexible pending different circumstances. I routinely ask for feedback about the therapeutic relationship/participation to ensure our time together is as beneficial for you as possible.

How can you tell if I am benefiting from working with you?

I find it is very important to routinely evaluate and review how you are feeling throughout your therapeutic journey, as well as how you are feeling in the therapeutic relationship. Depending on the client I will utilize assessment tools to track symptom improvement, adjust goals, and have open discussions for feedback from you on our sessions.

How will our relationship be different than relationships I have with friends/loved ones?

Friends and family can be great relationships and helpful in our overall life. However, these relationships can present with complex dynamics and implicit bias. In the client-therapist relationship, I provide a judgement free, safe space, to voice your authentic emotions, experiences, and thoughts. As a trained professional I will also teach you evidence based therapeutic tools to help reach your goals.
