I draw on my training as a therapist, behavioral scientist, mindfulness teacher and coach in supporting clients to make meaningful change. I help people live out their values, improve their health and functioning, cultivate resilience and deepen their sense of meaning, purpose and wellbeing. I work with a diverse range of clients, including adolescents and adults at all stages of life. I specialize in: - Supporting high achievers, including professionals and executives, to find greater balance, meaning, and improve performance and overall functioning. - Therapy for women, supporting adult and adolescent women on issues ranging from body image, disordered eating, fertility, pre-and post natal challenges, parenting and identity issues. - Behavioral health, supporting people through weight loss and maintenance, body image struggles, disordered eating and emotional eating. I support clients in building effective skills to regulate their emotions and overcome obstacles, and draw on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and mindfulness practices. My background includes training as a coach, psychotherapist, psychoeducator and behavioral scientist. I have training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT for weight management, amongst other approaches. I teach mindfulness-based courses including Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), Mindful self compassion (MSC), Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and Mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP).

Get to Know Naomi

What is the best part of the work for you?

I love to see people grow and bring to life the possibilities they dream for themselves.

Have you received any particular training beyond your post-Bachelor's training?

I spent over 10 years studying everything I could about human behavior. I have masters degrees in applied positive psychology, bioethics, nutrition and applied physiology, social work and a PhD in Behavioral nutrition. In addition to receiving additional training in various therapeutic approaches (including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and emotion-focused therapy (EFT), I have also received training in teaching various mindfulness practices, including MBSR, MSC, MBCT and MBRP.

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

My work is deeply informed by Buddhist psychology and practices, as well as by existential philosophy and approaches.
