My style of therapy embraces empathy, non-judgment and collaboration with my clients. Working with me means having a safe, compassionate and honest place to be heard, while focusing on all aspects of your mental and emotional health. Using an integrative approach that combines the best of several types of therapy, I create a individualized therapeutic experience for my clients. While I work with various areas of concern, if you are struggling with issues related to trauma, codependency, narcissistic abuse or relationships I might be a particularly good match for you.

I believe that much of your healing comes from our therapeutic relationship, meaning I find it important to be more than just a kind ear. You can expect me to actively listen, as well as ask questions, give reflections, guide you as you process experiences and emotions, offer feedback when desired, and work in collaboration with you. In short, I am an active participant that allows you all the space and time you need to be heard and seen.
Previous to forming my own private practice, I was employed by my mentor, within her practice. This space allowed me to gain further experience in the unique arrangement and challenges of private practice, continue to grow as a clinician and train under someone with 40+ years experience. Before that, I trained at Open Paths Counseling Center where I was educated in the ways of psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as completing a 6-month trauma intensive. Training at Open Paths allowed me to deepen my education, in particular, around the concerns of underserved communities, including the LGBTQIA and BiPOC populations. Additionally, I worked within LAUSD, grades K-8, as school counselor. In 2019, I completed training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Humanitarian Assistance Program. Previous to my education/training as a therapist, I received my life coaching certification through IPEC and the International Coaching Federation.
The therapeutic relationship is unlike any other in most peoples lives. It’s truly a place free of judgement, or fear that what is talked about could cause further issues or pain. While friends/loved ones often have our best interest at heart, they can’t help but be effected by what is happening with us, so while they may try to be objective, it is often not possible. Therapy provides freedom from judgement, retaliation, worsening concerns, or even just knowing a person you’re trying to have fun with knows too much about your pain. Our therapeutic relationship would be unique in that I care about what happens to you, while not allowing it to change how I interact with you.
I share small amounts about myself, when therapeutically appropriate. I don’t mind disclosing about myself, but our work together is about you and you should be the focus.
