Message from Yvonne

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here. Pursuing therapy can be an intimidating but ultimately life-changing experience. I'm grateful you're here moving forward with care that resonates with you and your goals. My name is Yvonne (she/her). I’m a first-generation Latina therapist with a background in the arts. I've studied clinical social work at Fordham University and gained experience in psychiatric hospitals, crisis hotlines, child welfare, and private practice. I specialize in working with clients who are working through depression, anxiety, relationship/dating dynamics, life transitions, and race-related stress. I’m a kink-friendly therapist and LGBTQIA+ allied. The best next step is for you to book a free, brief call with me to share a little bit more about what brings you to therapy and for me to share about my experience so that together, we can confirm our fit. I am currently in network with Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. For anyone with out-of-network benefits, I can assist with the paperwork necessary for reimbursement. I am only accepting clients age 18+ at this time. I look forward to meeting you and beginning our work together soon. I'm currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Empire BCBS, Evernorth, Optum, United Healthcare, Aetna, Anthem, UMR, and Cigna.

Get to Know Yvonne

""I found our sessions very helpful because I would leave with actionable steps and resources to use in my day-to-day. WIth this, I saw real progress made as the sessions continued. I also appreciated her warm and inviting nature that made our sessions a comfortable space to bring up any feelings or experiences without judgement.Yvonne patiently guided me with great care through many difficult and must needed conversations for healing that helped me thrive in my life, not just survive.""

VR, Client

Do you assign homework, activities, or readings for me to do between sessions? Why or why not?

I do! I feel like it is important for you to take what you have learned in session and practice applying it to your daily life for reinforcement. The goal is for you to feel comfortable enough to apply these tools [such as challenging negative thoughts] on your own enough that it almost becomes second nature.

How should I prepare for my first session with you?

Come prepared with an open mind! While it can help to bring a topic to talk about, it isn't absolutely necessary. There have been times where I've had clients say they had nothing to talk about during session and then end up talking about an issue they had in the back of their mind. Otherwise, make sure you are in a quiet and private space so you can feel free to delve into session with minimal interruption.
