Verified background check
Hi, I’m Mariam. Thank you for being here and taking this next step toward care. I’m happy to share more about me and my work. We can’t cover everything in a simple text bio, so please book your free phone consultation for us to talk through any questions or additional details. I’m a social worker who studied at NYU and Columbia, which means I am trained with a holistic approach to mental health which covers all aspects of a person’s wellbeing, from the mental, physical, and social. Outside of my training, I’ve also been involved in research on women’s health issues. I used to be a teacher of Arabic, history, and other topics. Although I loved teaching, I knew that working as a therapist with clients like you is really where my passion lies. Therapy sessions with me look a lot like a conversation. I believe that you ultimately know yourself, and I am here to be a guiding source and facilitator within the room. Depending on your needs, I can provide resources to coping mechanisms, practices and tools to take outside of our sessions. I can also be someone who listens without judgment. Therapy can be nerve racking, so I am open to listening and changing things up depending on how you grow and what you need. I'm currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Empire BCBS, Evernorth, Optum, United Healthcare, Aetna, Anthem, UMR, and Cigna. I am also an out-of-network provider. Book your free phone consult today to continue the conversation - I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in your growth.

Get to Know Mariam
I have seen a lot of people from all over the US and outside of it, struggling simply because they don't know how to talk about what they are feeling or because they think there's no point to it. There is absolutely a purpose to talking about what you're going through, and support is critical to living a healthy life. I have always loved to talk with others, strangers, friends, family, so that's why I am here to work with you.
This answer can change person to person, but I would make a list either mentally or on paper, what your fears and desires are out of working together. Even if you don't end up sharing it, just make note of it, so that your body can release some of that tension before our session.
