I believe that you ultimately know yourself, and I am here to be a guiding source and facilitator within the room. Depending on your needs, I can provide resources for coping mechanisms, practices, and tools to take outside of our sessions. I can also be someone who listens without judgment. I am trained with a holistic approach to mental health which covers all aspects of a person’s mental, physical, and social well-being. I used to teach Arabic, history, and other topics. Although I loved teaching, I knew that working as a therapist with clients like you is really where my passion lies. I’ve also been involved in research on women’s health issues. I have seen a lot of people from all over the US and outside of it, struggling simply because they don't know how to talk about what they are feeling or because they think there's no point to it. There is absolutely a purpose to talking about what you're going through, and support is critical to living a healthy life. I have always loved to talk with others, strangers, friends, family, so that's why I am here to work with you.
This answer can change person to person, but I would make a list either mentally or on paper, what your fears and desires are out of working together. Even if you don't end up sharing it, just make note of it, so that your body can release some of that tension before our session.
