We will work collaboratively to reach mutual understanding, honest emotional expression, and to acknowledge and nourish your true self, in all of its complexity - which will hopefully lead to a more authentic, vibrant, fulfilling life. Therapy can offer a path through the stress and trauma of everyday life, and increase our resilience. My clients say that therapy has re-introduced them to themselves, allowed them to understand and accept themselves, helped them identify and change problematic patterns, given them new coping tools, helped them heal, and helped them find their voice. I work with a wide variety of clients and issues, with a focus on depression & mood issues, anxiety, identity, trauma, isolation, addiction, personality disorders, psychosis, loss & bereavement, and relationship & intimacy issues. I work with individuals, couples, and families; I also facilitate therapeutic groups. Contact me for a free phone consultation.

Why state matters
Get to Know justin
-Mental health is the capacity to tolerate difficult emotions. -By being allowed to be our authentic selves, and validated in a non-judgmental space, our true selves emerge more and more--and the answers to our questions and problems emerge, too. -Mood, psychosis, and personality are complex spectrums, and we all exist somewhere on those spectrums--and in different parts of those spectrums depending on the moment. -Personality 'disorders' are treatable. -Therapy can offer life-changing 'corrective emotional experiences.'
We'll be able to tell because you've described how your symptoms or unwanted behavior/pain/challenges have lessened; or you report or appear to be a more vibrant, authentic, spontaneous version of yourself; or your awareness understanding of your Self has improved/increased; or your resilience and ability to tolerate difficult/negative feelings has increased.
You can think about what brought you to therapy, what questions you have about therapy, what ideas you have about therapy, what you would like to change, or how you're feeling today--right now. But really you don't have to prepare anything because your honest self in the moments we're together is all that you need to be!
