Kindness and compassion have become the foundation of how I work to help alleviate the suffering of others. I believe that feeling misunderstood is an excruciating experience that causes harm in our relationships. I feel truly honored when I get to work with people and help ease their pain and ease their suffering. As a Buddhist, I identify as a contemplative practitioner and am deeply committed to my own spiritual practice. https://www.mettaforall.com/

I love this question because it speaks to my fundamental values about therapy. When talking with friends, there often comes a time when the friend will talk about themselves or how your situation might affect them. In a professional setting, I am listening and responding only through the lens of you. In my professional role, I am deeply committed to the client never having to take care of me. This means that I will never make your session about me.
I have wanted to be a therapist since I was very young (7, maybe?) because I really cared about listening to other people's feelings. As I got a little older, I began to truly value to importance of feeling heard.
