Message from Jillian

The therapeutic-transformational approach is centered around guiding fellow humans to claim their knowledge by engaging their intuition and in creating genuine connection. The work questions the ways we have been informed about what counts as mental health and what constitutes happiness, purpose, and fulfillment. This practice acts as bridge to something bigger than ourselves and reveals the power to tend to wounds inflicted in a time that no longer aligns. Acknowledging context and how it impacts functioning is a significant factor in revolutionizing healthcare. Together we will modify a personalized approach using integrated therapy models. This space offers a reconditioning of how we process information creating new pathways of understanding to co-construct questions of ethics, empathy, and imagination that include the nuanced fragilities of our shared stories.

Get to Know Jillian

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

This work integrates many ways of knowing by connecting with our body as a vessel of past and present. If we continue to solely blame ourselves we are not looking at historical trauma or holding the systems of oppression accountable. We all deserve liberating therapy

Where did you work before going into private practice?

After acquiring a BA from New York University in Art History, Psychology, and Studio Art, I earned my Masters of Professional Studies in Creativity Development and Art Therapy from Pratt Institute. I co-created and managed the first mental health program at University Settlement’s Children’s Corner in Brownsville, Brooklyn. I co-created the first mental health program at The League’s Education and Treatment Center’s LAND Gallery; and I worked in the inpatient acute psychiatric unit at NYU’s Langone Medical Center. I also worked as Director of Development at RxArt, a nonprofit organization that transforms healthcare environments by commissioning contemporary artists to create site-specific installations.

What is unique about the work you do, or how have you found your work to be different than your colleagues'?

This is an intuitive healing practice led by emotional intelligence intended to move deeper into the human condition: an awareness that begins with the self and then extends beyond. Together, we modify an approach using various modalities: Art Therapy, Movement Therapy, Play Therapy, Psychotherapy, Guidance, Healing, Energy Work, Inner Child and Reparenting, Ancestral Healing, and Expressive Communication. We work on moving beyond the limited boundaries of the ego in order to experience an enhanced capacity for creativity, empathy, wisdom, unconditional love, and compassion. During the sessions pre-conditioned emotional patterns are felt then released, clearing obstacles to truths to help resolve persistent limitations. We will work together on an honest, unfixed sliding scale to ensure sustainability.
