Get to Know Michelle

"I suffer from anxiety and PTSD. The symptoms from both impeded me from attending social functions which was causing my children to suffer. Getting them to sporting events and birthday parties was too much for me so they often missed out. Michelle helped me identify adaptive coping mechanisms which enabled me to start enjoying life again with my children. "

What is the best part of the work for you?

I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with clients in the achievement of their goals. All accomplishments small and large are to be celebrated as progress forward to a brighter tomorrow. I feel lucky to be a part of the process.

What led you to become a mental healthcare practitioner?

During my adolescence I had a friend who suffered from an undiagnosed mental illness. I supported her in the best way that I could as a peer, however in my heart I knew that wasn’t enough. I began my own research, took college courses in high school and started working in a psychology lab as soon as I went to college in order to start on my professional career path.
