How should I prepare for my first session with you?

You don't need to stress about being "perfectly prepared". Bring whatever feels right. There's no need for a magic trick or a script--just bring yourself! Whether you're prepared with a list of things you want to talk about, or you're coming in with a "let's see what happens" attitude, we'll roll with it. Feel free to share what's on your mind in whatever way feels best for you. My goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable and talk about whatever matters the most to you.

How long should I commit to being in therapy, at least in the beginning?

In the beginning, it's helpful to commit to a few consistent sessions to give us time to build rapport and identify your goals. This allows us to establish a foundation for the work and assess what pace and frequency would best support your needs moving forward.

Where did you work before going into private practice?

Before transitioning into private practice, I worked in community mental health settings where I gained extensive experience working with diverse populations. These roles allowed me to develop strong clinical skills, particularly in addressing anxiety, adjustment disorders, and other life challenges. It was a great foundation that prepared me to offer more personalized care in a practice setting.

From your perspective, what is therapy?

From my perspective, therapy is like cleaning out a messy closet- you pull everything out, realize there's way more in there than you thought, and then slowly start organizing it into something that makes sense. Sometimes you rediscover things you forgot about, toss what no longer serves you, and maybe even find space for new things. Its messy, it's awkward, but in the end, it's so worth it.
