Therapy is a space where you should feel safe—safe to explore difficult emotions, work through identity development, address trauma, and navigate life transitions without fear of rejection or criticism. I specialize in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, struggles with identity development, and those who belong to marginalized groups, particularly the LGBTQ+ community. Above all, I emphasize the creation of a warm, nonjudgmental environment where all parts of your identity are not only accepted but celebrated. As a queer, Armenian-American psychologist, I am deeply attuned to the complexities of intersecting identities and how they shape your personal journey. I recognize that for many, navigating the world can feel challenging, especially if you identify with other marginalized groups. My approach is culturally sensitive, queer-affirming, and trauma-informed. I understand how societal oppression and microaggressions can influence self-perception, relationships, and mental health. That’s why I’m committed to offering a therapeutic environment where you can explore your identity freely without fear of judgment or invalidation. It’s important to me that you feel truly seen and supported, knowing that your experiences, struggles, and aspirations are valid and meaningful. I believe that healing and growth occur when we honor your unique story. My therapy style is integrative, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to best support your needs. Whether we’re exploring how your past experiences shape your present through psychodynamic principles or fostering self-acceptance and personal growth through a client-centered approach, I’m here to help you move forward on your terms. To make therapy as accessible as possible, I offer flexible options for our work together. Whether you prefer virtual sessions, in-person meetings at my Midtown East office, or a hybrid model, I am committed to ensuring that therapy fits your lifestyle and needs. A little about me: I grew up in Northern Virginia, where my dedication to psychology and mental health advocacy took root. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from George Mason University and continued my academic journey in New York City, where I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology at Fordham University. When I’m not in the office, I love finding peace in quiet moments—whether it’s reading fantasy novels, enjoying time with my cat, or savoring a warm cup of chai. These simple pleasures help me stay grounded, and I hope to encourage balance and mindfulness in my work with clients.
