Message from Nina

The decision to start therapy is an act of courage and self-love. Therapy offers a space to heal from past pain, navigate life's challenges, and foster deeper connections with ourselves and others. I specialize in supporting individuals with depression, trauma, grief, anxiety, and those managing complex medical needs, including adults with disabilities. With personal experience navigating a disability, I also focus on helping clients cope with the stressors of living with illness, the complexities of the medical system, and the discrimination that can accompany these challenges. My practice is client-centered and integrative, with a predominantly psychodynamic approach. I bring attentiveness, honesty, humor, and empathy into the therapeutic space, making it a collaborative and safe environment for growth. As a first-generation American and lifelong New Yorker, I have had the privilege of learning from the city’s diverse, vibrant communities, which have shaped my clinical approach. My work is grounded in the frameworks of disability, queer, and racial justice. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from LIU Brooklyn and have gained experience in a range of settings, including Veterans hospitals, medical centers, and college counseling centers. Outside of work, I am a CUNY Adjunct Assistant Professor. I enjoy literature, activism, and spending time with my pets and loved ones. I am also passionate about poetry, finding that language is a powerful tool for healing, making sense of our experiences, and sharing our stories with others.
