Verified background check
Growing up between the US and India, I’ve been shaped by the intersections of different cultures, identities, and experiences, all of which have deeply influenced my approach to therapy. I specialize in working with individuals navigating the complexities of identity, intergenerational trauma, and belonging, particularly those with marginalized or intersecting identities. My work centers on helping clients build a strong sense of self and stability, while exploring how their cultural backgrounds and life experiences shape their mental and emotional well-being. It’s often difficult to know where to begin. Even when nothing seems wrong, or whether you’re feeling burdened by anxiety, depression, isolation, trauma, a complicated relationship, or you are struggling with change and are seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can offer valuable insights to prepare you for future challenges. I often think: “A symptom is like an eclipse; it reveals and conceals all at once.” I listen for your most urgent needs while also exploring what might be tucked beneath the surface. This approach allows me to adapt to your needs and consider the wholeness of your experiences—both external and internal. Through a trauma-informed lens, my therapeutic style draws from both psychodynamic and relational theories. My work is grounded in empathy, curiosity, humor, and a deep commitment to understanding the complexities of each person’s experience. My aim is to ensure that the progress we make in therapy is reflected in your everyday life. I’m especially passionate about helping others navigate the complexities of identity, intergenerational trauma, and belonging, particularly for those with marginalized or intersecting identities. This passion drives my commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in my practice. Outside of my professional life, I find joy in creativity and exploration. You might find me dancing on top of a table, sharing my thoughts on Substack, trying to master the piano, painting, reading, scrolling through funny TikTok videos, exploring new places, or resting with friends and family. I usually try to find a balance between taking charge of the day and letting the zodiac stars guide the way. Starting therapy is a courageous step, but it’s also a wonderfully normal one. Wherever you are in your journey, I hope to make you feel welcome as we collaborate to empower and nurture your narrative.
