Message from Karly

I believe therapy is a compassionate, collaborative process where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Because every person’s story is unique, I create thoughtful, individualized treatment plans that honor your lived experiences, your pace, and your goals for healing and growth. Therapy is a shared journey rooted in trust and meaningful connection. Your voice and preferences guide our work together, and I am committed to meeting you exactly where you are—with empathy, respect, and genuine care—every step of the way. With over 18 years of experience, I am deeply committed to helping clients heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. My work is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Brainspotting, Somatic Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating depression and mood disorders, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, military-related stress, and trauma. I also provide compassionate, evidence-based care for couples and families seeking stronger connection and healthier communication. Healing is not always linear, but you don’t have to move through it alone.

Do you have experience (5-10 years+) working with any types of obstacles or people in particular?

Yes. With over 18 years in the field, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families facing a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and self-esteem struggles. I have also spent many years supporting military families and individuals navigating trauma and stress-related experiences. My experience has allowed me to develop a compassionate, practical approach that helps clients move toward meaningful change.

What led you to become a mental healthcare practitioner?

What led me to become a mental health practitioner was a deep desire to help people feel understood and supported during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories, emotions, and the experiences that shape who they are. Over time, I realized how powerful it can be to create a safe space where someone feels truly heard and supported while working toward meaningful change.

What is the best part of the work for you?

The best part of this work is getting to witness people change in ways they once believed were impossible. I love seeing clients begin to understand themselves more deeply, shift patterns that have kept them stuck, and reconnect with their strength and sense of hope. There is something incredibly meaningful about being trusted with someone’s story and walking alongside them as they heal, grow, and begin to experience their lives differently. Watching clients build confidence, improve their relationships, and realize they are capable of creating real change is the most rewarding part of what I do.

From your perspective, what is therapy?

Therapy is a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or expectations. It is a supportive relationship where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing, explore patterns in your life, and begin to understand yourself more deeply. In therapy, we work together to process difficult experiences, build insight, and develop practical tools that help you navigate life with more clarity, confidence, and emotional balance. Sometimes therapy focuses on healing from the past, sometimes it’s about managing present challenges, and other times it’s about creating the kind of future you want. At its core, therapy is about connection, growth, and meaningful change. It’s a place where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward in a way that aligns with who you are and what matters most to you.

How should I prepare for my first session with you?

No preparation is needed. We will work together in your first session to target areas that you would like to work through in therapy and develop an individual treatment plan for you.
