Message from Taylor

As a counselor, I create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, challenges, and aspirations with authenticity. Through empathy, respect, and trust, I help clients navigate life’s complexities with clarity and resilience so they can live more genuinely and purposefully. I deeply value a multicultural perspective and am committed to offering culturally competent care. As an Asian American woman, I bring a nuanced understanding of how cultural beliefs and identities shape our experiences. I prioritize creating a safe, affirming space for people of all backgrounds, especially those from marginalized communities. With a particular passion for supporting life transitions, I specialize in navigating identity formation and societal expectations. I use an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. Together, let's explore recurring patterns and deepen self-awareness to support meaningful growth and healing.

Get to Know Taylor

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

My work is grounded in the belief that healing comes from reconnecting with your authentic self. I value empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, and aim to create a space where you can safely explore who you are beneath the roles, expectations, or past experiences that may have shaped you. I ask that you bring your commitment to change and a readiness to try new things so that we can make the most of your time!

What led you to become a mental healthcare practitioner?

I had the best Psychology class teacher in high school who emphasized that psychology is a way to understand others. She taught me about the Fundamental Attribution Error, the human tendency to blame a person's disposition or personality rather than the situation, and with such she expanded my capacity for empathy. I became fascinated with the use of psychology to listen and truly hear other people's stories, thus finding myself drawn to a career where I can utilize this empathy to connect with others.

What is the best part of the work for you?

The thing I love most is getting to celebrate small wins with my clients! So often in life we focus on the big, the dramatic, and the obvious but it's incredibly rewarding to create a space where the little, overlooked areas of growth are acknowledged. By celebrating those moments, I get to help clients build confidence and a kinder inner voice. I also love getting to see each individual journey. Everyone's path and obstacles are different but it's a joy to help someone put the pieces back together, or to adjust the pieces to create a new and more authentic image of themselves.
