Message from Madison

Hey, I’m Madison, a licensed psychotherapist in New York City. I believe in joy as a spiritual practice and I’m not afraid of humor in the therapy room, and while we’ll do the hard work together, it doesn’t always have to feel heavy. Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning and self-aware. On the outside, they seem “fine,” even thriving but internally they’re carrying chaos, anxiety or self-doubt. They might believe they don’t have a “right” to struggle or feel stuck in patterns that therapy hasn’t yet helped them move through. I integrate EMDR therapy, parts work, and body-based practices to support you on your journey. I see therapy as a collaborative process — an unfolding architecture of change that honors your pace and vision for your future. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in television as a producer and spent time abroad doing humanitarian work. These experiences deeply inform the way I see people: as complex, adaptable, and full of untapped strength. I am a big proponent of self-expression. In my down time, I enjoy exploring all things fashion, interior design and philosophy. Outside of my therapy office, you can probably catch me at a rave dancing to electronic music (especially techno).
I even created a Tiktok account specifically about the healing aspects of raving.

"Madison changed my perspective and my life. I can't thank her enough! "

OCD Client, 9 Months, Client

"I've supervised and collaborated many times with Madison Liddle, and what stands out to me is the creativity, authenticity and thoughtfulness she brings to her work. Madison integrates somatic approaches with personal experiences—including insights drawn from rave and dance culture—in a way that is grounded, embodied, accessible, and also quite cutting edge."

Have you received any particular training beyond your post-Bachelor's training?

I’m EMDRIA-certified, which means I’ve completed the highest standard of training and credentialing available. Beyond that, I consult with and train other therapists who want to deepen their EMDR work. Over the last year and a half, I’ve been integrating EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS), a powerful combination that helps clients heal faster and more completely. People come to me because they want to go deep. They’re tired of spinning their wheels. They want something that works, something that changes more than just their thoughts. They want relief, movement and freedom.

What are your policies and practices around insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. Many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits which may cover part or all of your treatment costs. If you have out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. If you’re unsure about whether you have coverage, you can contact your insurer and ask about your coverage for therapy and/or EMDR services, or use the form below to check your coverage.

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

Clients come to me when they've been holding it together for a long time but inside, things feel chaotic or disconnected. They are caught in old blueprints of survival that no longer fit the life they want to live. Working together is less about quick fixes and more about sustainable change. In session, you can expect: • A nonjudgmental, compassionate presence; • Gentle challenges that help you see yourself and your values more clearly and; • Tools to help you increase emotional tolerance and shift internal patterns.
