Hi there! My name is Alyssa Vu and my pronouns are she/her/hers. My priority is to provide a space where my clients feel comfortable and safe to express themselves truthfully while empowering them with strategies, skills, and strengths to overcome their challenges. I want to learn how my clients perceive themselves and how their sense of self is played out in their lives. With empathy and understanding, I strive to provide treatments that consider my clients’ backgrounds, behaviors, and thought processes through a medley of tailored approaches. I work with clients who experience depression, anxiety, identity complexities, familial and relationship issues, life transitions, cultural challenges, and trauma. I welcome clients who bring in different challenges and experiences, as I am confident that we will learn to face them together. When you are ready to talk, feel free to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation to begin. Looking forward to working with you!

I welcome diversity and the fact that our lives are different. I think that's what makes sessions enriching; when we bring our separate life expertise into a conversation and form connections. I'd like to learn more about your upbringing, culture, values, religion, etc. while working to find parallels where we can bond and grow from together in order to help you understand your best self.
I find that I learn so much from working with clients from different walks of life. The more I work with clients with different backgrounds and issues, the more I'm able to build upon my worldview and formulate my approaches based on shared experiences. It also helps me reflect on myself, my values, and what kind of practitioner I want to be. It's like adding to a never ending database!
While I provide the space for my clients to share their experiences and vent, I often probe and ask a lot of questions that will challenge my clients to take a step further and reflect on the behaviors and changes in their lives. Questions can range from "where do you think this is coming from" or "what are things you can do about this" may often come up in our conversations to stimulate change and reflection for my clients.
