Message from Stefanie

Living in New York City can make you feel isolated, disconnected or even as though life in general is just overwhelming. Talking can help you feel in control and allow you to believe in yourself once again. My job is to help you find your inner strength and foster your self-esteem in areas where it may have been lost. My style is warm, nurturing, and goal-oriented. There are no "pre-set" solutions to your unique struggles, and I know that. I look forward to meeting you in a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental environment that allows change to occur.

Get to Know Stefanie

"I have been seeing Stefanie for almost a year now, and I cannot begin to express how thankful I am that I stumbled upon such an amazing therapist. While I've been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, I have also suffered from panic attacks and body image issues, and Stefanie has been what has helped me the most through all of these things (over medication, natural therapies like acupuncture and herbs, counselors, etc.). She is kind, welcoming and down-to-earth - just being around her comforting presence lets you know that everything is going to be okay. I know that she genuinely cares about me and is as committed as I am to figuring things out. Stefanie has helped me understand how my mind works and uses elements of CBT to help me reframe my thoughts and develop coping skills. After working with her I am more stable, empowered and accepting of myself. While every individual has to find a therapist that they can connect to, I am confident that Stefanie is committed to personalizing her approach according to each of her clients. I also appreciate her younger age - talking to her feels easy and relatable, yet she is still knowledgable. Her office is a positive, light-filled space in a super convenient location - there just isn't a bad thing to say."

"When I think of Stefanie, what comes to mind is that she is not only a super clinically savvy therapist, but she's just a great human. She's caring, authentic, trusting, respectful, curious, observant, and genuinely dedicated to her client's well-being. She's a pleasure to collaborate with and I'm so happy to have her as a referral and professional resource."

Lindsay , Colleague

"Stefanie is one of the most incredible clinicians I have ever had the privilege of working with. She is empathetic and challenging, attentive, and attune. I would refer any patient to her and I know you are in the best hands when you are working with her. I enjoy all of our collaboration and think she is unbelievable asset to this field."

What is unique about the work you do, or how have you found your work to be different than your colleagues'?

The difference I find is when working with me I will not just shake my head and allow you to do all the talking. Of course you are in the drivers seat and steer the sessions, but I will stop you, ask you questions, give you feedback, and coping mechanisms or reframing techniques that'll help you make the changes YOU want and need to make. Multiple clients have told me that working with me is different because they feel heard and understood in a way other therapists were unable to connect with them. I want to connect with you in the way that will help you the most.

What led you to become a mental healthcare practitioner?

I always knew I wanted to be a therapist, but when a close family member got sick and passed away, I realized the empathy and understanding that I was able to provide them helped those around me in a way others could not. I wanted to use these skills to help others grow emotionally and feel like their "best selves."

How much do you share about yourself during our time together and why?

I share with my clients if I feel like it would help them understand their own experience and not feel alone. I also share to grow a rapport in which they feel comfortable to share with me and so they know that I also have gone through a situation similar that may assist them in their own growth and transformation.
