Today more than ever focusing on the things that are most important in our lives like maintaining a balanced healthy life has come to the forefront for many of us. Mental health makes up an important part of our health as it connects to the physical in more ways than we know. The ability to recognize that something doesn’t feel right is often the first step in this process. For everyone the process though this journey of self healing may look different but it is the same commitment we make to take care of ourselves. You may be noticing that you’re having some trouble falling or staying asleep, fatigue or maybe an inability to concentrate as you have before. As a collective we have experienced an increased stress that has put a strain on our finances, we have lost loved ones and faced uncertainty of what lies ahead. In my clinical approach with you I strive to create a safe supportive space and partnership where client and clinician travel together on a road of self-discovery healing encompassed within a strong therapeutic alliance. I have experience in working with Couples, children, families and individuals. I also have experience in holding group therapy sessions to assist those process emotions and life events in the group space. I have therapeutic focus in utilizing the TFCBT, Seeking Safety, CBT and DBT modalities to assist one in managing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction and trauma. I work to assist clients in learning skills that may be applicable to times of intense stress or high emotion where they can feel more equipped in their daily life. My main goal is to ensure that you are able to work through the many life stressors that can create distress and assist you to moving towards a life worth living.

Therapy is what you make it. You and your therapist build a relationship that allows for amazing transformations, breakthroughs and new found strength. Your therapist will challenge you to examine everything so far and decide if and what needs to change.
As a woman of color mental health health is something that isn't readily available and stigmatized for those that look like me. Being able to provide healing to those that look like me is the driving force because it is such an intentional way of taking action over obstacles and a great way to create new patterns.
Before private practice I did a lot of angency work. I developed my therapy skills working with children youth and families in their homes providing case management, family therapy and resources to assist them in moving towards more effective family functioning.
Therapy is how we prioritize and care for ourselves. Most times when we try to take time for ourselves the hectic day to day gets in the way and its hard to block out the noise. Therapy is a space where we can focus intentionally on ourselves without judgement.
Just bring your thoughts and be open to sharing all thats on your mind
