Message from Melissa

ABOUT ME... I am a dedicated psychotherapist whose therapeutic aim is to support individuals in transforming themselves from who they believe they need to be, to their most authentic and satisfied selves. I received my MSW from Rutgers University and am a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). With experience helping those from eight years old to 80, I offer a wide range of interventions to successfully alleviate symptoms of distress that may disrupt each developmental stage of life. I have extensive experience as a conference presenter and speak on stress reduction and reducing burnout in both professional and personal settings. I most often utilize positive psychology and mindfulness in my practice, as well as traditional CBT and DBT interventions. Reach out to me for a free phone consultation. Get to Know Melissa

What is the best part of the work for you?

Seeing people improve their lives through therapy and find balance is the most rewarding. Healing as a whole is a kind of making something right again, and that feels like the greatest work of all.

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

My work is informed by the scientific breakthroughs that have been made in the fields of neuroscience, trauma treatment, and mind-body modalities. This means that not only do I have traditional training in therapy interventions, but I am also adding new and influential data and practices from cutting edge research.

From your perspective, what is therapy?

Therapy is the process in which a trained professional uses their skills and abilities to support individuals, couples, and groups in the process of healing and transition throughout the life cycle. It is a safe place where the client is the focus, and their goals and wellbeing are primary unlike most other relationships and settings.
