Message from Melissa

ABOUT ME... I am a dedicated psychotherapist whose therapeutic aim is to support individuals in transforming themselves from who they believe they need to be, to their most authentic and satisfied selves. I received my MSW from Rutgers University and am a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). With experience helping those from eight years old to 80, I offer a wide range of interventions to successfully alleviate symptoms of distress that may disrupt each developmental stage of life. I have extensive experience as a conference presenter and speak on stress reduction and reducing burnout in both professional and personal settings. I most often utilize positive psychology and mindfulness in my practice, as well as traditional CBT and DBT interventions. Reach out to me for a free phone consultation. What is the best part of the work for you?

Seeing people improve their lives through therapy and find balance is the most rewarding. Healing as a whole is a kind of making something right again, and that feels like the greatest work of all.

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

My work is informed by the scientific breakthroughs that have been made in the fields of neuroscience, trauma treatment, and mind-body modalities. This means that not only do I have traditional training in therapy interventions, but I am also adding new and influential data and practices from cutting edge research.

From your perspective, what is therapy?

Therapy is the process in which a trained professional uses their skills and abilities to support individuals, couples, and groups in the process of healing and transition throughout the life cycle. It is a safe place where the client is the focus, and their goals and wellbeing are primary unlike most other relationships and settings.
