Coming Back to Yourself · Day 1

You're not broken

Burnout isn't weakness, laziness or ingratitude. Today we name what's actually happening.

Video loads here on the live page

In today's video

  • What burnout does to your nervous system, and why that doesn't make you weak
  • Why high-achieving people are especially likely to miss it
  • How burnout wears down meaning, not just energy
  • Why the person you recognize in yourself is still there

Reflect in your workbook

  • When did I first notice something was off? What was happening in my life then?
  • What am I most exhausted by: emotionally, mentally, physically? Try to be specific.
  • What feels heavy that I haven't been able to name until now?
  • When I imagine the version of me who feels like myself again, what do they look like? How do they spend their time?

Today's practice: a 10-minute nervous system downshift

Choose one:

  • A slow walk with no phone, no podcast and no "work." Just walking and noticing.
  • 4-7-8 breathing: breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 7, breathe out for 8.
  • A body scan: lie down and slowly move your attention from your feet to the top of your head.

No productivity tracking today. No to-do lists. Notice where you are without judging it. Afterward, write 2 or 3 sentences in your workbook: what did I notice?
