Questions, answered

What is IFS therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach that sees the mind as made up of different parts, each with its own feelings and intentions, often trying to protect you. With your therapist, you get to know these parts and build a more compassionate relationship with them.

What is parts work?

Parts work is the broader idea behind IFS: that it’s normal to feel “of two minds,” and that understanding each side of you can ease inner conflict. Some therapists use IFS directly; others draw on parts work alongside other approaches.

Does IFS work over video?

Yes. IFS is conversation-based and works well over video. Every Dedicated session is over video, for people living anywhere in New York State.

Is IFS covered by insurance?

Insurance covers therapy with a licensed, in-network therapist; it doesn’t usually depend on the approach they use. Dedicated by MyWellbeing is in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and MVP, and most clients pay $20–$30 per session. We check your benefits before your first session. Not using insurance? Sessions range from $100–$200.

Who are Dedicated therapists?

MyWellbeing’s in-house team of licensed therapists. Each one is vetted through clinical review, case studies and background checks, and receives ongoing supervision, mentorship and training, with a focus on clinical excellence and social justice.

What if my first therapist isn’t the right fit?

Fit matters most. We’ll help you switch to another Dedicated therapist or connect you with someone outside our team. Email dedicated@mywellbeing.com and we’ll follow up within 2 business days.
